The studio is a friendly, candle scented home away from home. Paul Gannon is an efficient engineer who really knows what he is doing. And not only is he talented in studio. Paul is also playing drums and guitar and is a singer and songwriter. I am so glad that he would sing harmonies on this album. He is also a great person and has become a dear friend of mine! We had a great day in studio. It was obvious that at least some of them had been playing together before. There were laughter and fun all day. Thank you my "Basement boys" for the fun and for sharing your talents with me. The "Basement boys" are Dow Tomlin on bass (Brooks & Dunn), Michael Webb on organ/piano (The Wreckers), Mike Daly on steel guitar (Hank Williams Jr.), Steve Holland on drums (Melissa Gibson), Chuck Mead on acoustic rhythm guitar (Br549) and Kenny Vaughn on lead guitar (Patty Loveless, Marty Stuart). They are all fine studio musicians and live musicians. To sing back-up vocals, I got the lovely aussie, Prudence Clearwater. She is also a singer and songwriter and I am so proud to have her on this album. Now, a little story. Twelve years ago, I went to a country festival in Halden, Norway. That was the first time I heard Br549, and I really liked it. I met the band, took pictures and got signatures. And now, twelve years later I have recorded a duet with Chuck Mead! Who would have thought that! | Paul Gannon- always hungry for results Michael Webb - organ/piano Mike Daly & Kristin Dow Tomlin, Kristin Aaleborg, Steve Holland and Chuck Mead Dow Tomlin & Mike Daly Prudence Clearwater & Kristin Aaleborg Kristin singing in studio Kenny Vaughn & Kristin Aaleborg Paul Gannon, Chuck Mead & Kristin Aaleborg Chuck Mead & Kristin Aaleborg |
